Official 99th: BALLS WWII #7865
Welcome Pilots to the BALLS of the Fighting 99th.. now, I know what your thinking.. you're saying to yourself.. "Self, I want no part of Tracer's Balls.." Am I right? of course I am.. But wait! These aren't your normal every day gonads. This is an official F99th Mission made by yours truly. So grab your FAST BALL and your CATCHERS and go win one for the team!
How it works:
Each side has 1 aircraft marked as the FAST BALL - this aircraft is the only one that can score points. Fly to BULLS which is the entrance to the course. Fly through each of the gates (below 500 feet) to score 1 point. You must pass through all gates to score the point. Missing a gate, or getting shot down will cause the gate to reset after 55 seconds of the first gate activating.
Each time you pass through a gate, signal flares will shoot out from the towers.
Red and Blue teams start from opposite ends of the strip.
All aircraft start in the air approximately 12 miles from the entrance to the course.
The CATCHERS are there to escort the friendly FAST BALL while eliminating the enemy's FAST BALL.
This version setup for WWII a/c only on Nevada. The 51 and the 190 are the fast balls. There are 8 catchers on each side. 4 of each type.
Mission is avail on the server.

Sign up for the event tomorrow guys! f99th.com/component/jem/event/45
Apparently the banner has only caught the attention of Moose, Tracer, and myself but I know there are a lot more people interested than that.

I'm missing something as usual, lol! Sorry, it is probably intrinsically self-evident to most, but I don't see it...
What map is this on? Which aircraft type is the fast ball, on each side?
If it is Nevada and there are P-51s, I'm in.

It is Nevada and I'm relatively confident that P-51Ds will be featured heavily.

The 51 and the 190 are the fast balls. I'll be in a 190. I've been doing a crash course in it this weekend (with a heavy focus on crashing).

Whoa! I'll leave that to someone more current on the Mustang. I ain't flown it since about a couple of months after it came out for DCS. And I'll be doing my recurrent on the job this evening, so there's a big possibility of "screen shot" key at the ready for some self-embarrassment takes...

I dunno, it sounds like the fastballs have the easier job to me. So long as you can point the thing in the right direction and run the engine as hard as you can without blowing it up I'm sure you'd be up to the task.

I'm going to have to call off. Schedule change, very early start tomorrow. Almost a routine thing these days...
I'll just have a quick look see and sign off. My curiosity as to how rusty I am on the Mustang is getting the better of me.
