These VR "helmets" have been a long time coming; back in 1994 I tried an early version of one at Virtuality House in Leicester, England, where it had been developed. I'm glad they are finally getting some attention in terms of getting them to the consumer, at last. Looking forward to obtaining one, when they are good.

it comes with an xbox controller as the oculus people believe the experience to be much better with a controller such as that so that you don't have to feel around for a keyboard or mouse or other things. You are immersed with the optical size and your hands are occupied by the controller with no distractions. They are also coming out with controllers for your hands that are individually tracked. That said you don't have to use it.

It's $600 now? I thought I remembered it being substantially less.

I believe these have adjustable lenses for non-perfect vision? I am just beginning to get a tiny bit far sighted. No glasses yet, but those mini screens are really close to the eye, well inside my focus ability.
