Great clip, pyro. Certainly something to aim for, I'll be trying it...
I hate to mention this, but I know how that feels IRL, in an AS-350, at Manta, Ecuador, with me in the right seat and an ex Ecuadorian army pilot in the left*. He called it a "tactical stop to hover".
Now, how I came to be in that situation is a bit of a long story, albeit interesting (it was during some political unrest around here quite a few years ago), but it was the only time I was ever up at the controls of a helo. Of course I was hooked by the experience, however getting a helo license is not only expensive, but impossible in Ecuador as there are no civilian flight schools for them. Treasured memory, one small moment in an exciting, incident filled couple of days!
*Footnote: The keen eyed will wonder why I was in the traditional "pilot's" seat. The AS-350, with dual collective levers, is indifferent about who is PIC, seat wise. The company policy was that LH seat was PIC, in this case.

I know that feeling too, CH-47 Shithook, and the UH-60 Blackhawk, that shit was fun as hell, then we got to slide down ropes from 50ft. Ah, fun times...

LOL! I'll take your word for the 50 ft of rope bit being fun, I'm too creaky by far at my stage of the game to try it now.
The method works a treat with the UH-1 in DCS, BTW. Stops on a dime!

The inertia of the Mi-8 presents a whole different challenge. Can only imagine what an in-game Sea Stallion would be like.
