You guys will shoot me for this but..
If no soldiers were deployed then the A-10 wouldn't be such a necessity. Then the soldiers would be safe and the budget guys are saving even more money than cutting the A-10 alone
Not that I stand by that as an argument but it seems like nobody even considers it.

One of the most incredible pieces of A-10 related video I've found yet. I've always wanted to see what the end results of those gun runs look like up close and this is the first thing I've seen that actually does it. It's awesome. The original, awe-filled definition of awesome. And I'm sure those were just the training rounds, so you can imagine how much more devastating HEI or CM is..

Yup, definitely all inert weapons. The Mk-82 inert's were right on the money as were the gun runs. Had they been warshots those HMMWV's would have been scattered to the winds.

Oh yeah.. The inert bomb landing underneath the rear end probably would've been enough to give all the occupants brain damage. Add the explosives and the whole thing would be dust and tin foil.

Why the F-35 vs A-10 high threat CAS argument never really made any sense... at least to me.
