WELCOME PILOTS TO : COLD WAR
CAP on both sides are constantly patrolling but not attacking. See missiong breifing images to see the border (yellow line) between the two zones. Crossing this zone will result in enemy AI being vectored your way.
Each side has MULTIPLE Ground Radars that are looking for any incursion into their air space. Once detected, CAP's are vectored to the offending party by the GCI's.
If CAP is shot down. More CAP is launched from respective home bases.

Hey all,
This ones been up a lot lately so i have a few tweaks for you to look at Tracer.
1) Update CTLD to allow KA-50, Gazelle, Etc. to move crates.
2) Remove artillery (paladin and ruski equivalent) as they don't do jack shiza when spawned in CTLD. Maybe sub these for T-90's and M1A2.
3) Red needs alternative Helo spawn. Maybe Farp a bit removed from creech so they can actually start without being murdered.
4) Vampyre's request- Change color of MI8's... "they aren't supposed to look like a damn airliners!"
That is all... Good day!

The artillery tanks do shoot things, in my experience (not necessarily out of line of sight, etc.. but they do shoot stuff

Official 99th - COLD WAR #7437
When I hopped on yesterday I noticed the server had gone down. I decided to put up the T.H.E. version of cold war when I brought it back up. There was quite a few complaints about not having the F10 map. I personally enjoyed the change and had no problem adapting as did the majority of the 99th guys. The complaints were mainly from the pubbies who, evidently, don't know how to use their navigation systems or how to ID friendly from enemy units. It forces them to either learn their aircraft of play somewhere else with easier settings. Is there any way you might be able to create T.H.E. versions of other maps similar to this one?

In support of this, myself. I really enjoy getting down to the intricacies of employing the various coms and nav systems of the "full blown" models and do the job the way it really would be. Nothing stops us from having a printed chart, or a map on a tablet, for reference and a bit of realistic orientation, in something like the MiG-21 or F-5E.
Even when available, I try to not use the F-10 map as much as possible (main usage I give it is to see there is nothing on long finals when entering a runway).
PS: That said, the FC3 aircraft not that compliant with using the navigation aids, so I can see the requirement for the F10 map for some situations, with these aircraft.
