I'm way more hyped for the NH-90, but I'll buy a Gazelle no problem.

Tracer, I'm pretty sure you mean a purpose built western attack helicopter with tandem seats. The Sa-342M is a dedicated anti-tank attack helicopter. It has a SFIM APX M397 stabilized sight for firing Euromissile HOT. The stabilized sight will probably also be useful in an observation role as well. There are other versions of the Gazelle that are used for missions such as observation, training, liaison, utility, anti-aircraft (Mistral Missiles), and light attack (with 20mm cannon and rockets).

-Side note- Back in the mid 80's I would occasionally see a RAF Gazelle HT3's where I lived in England. It's a neat looking little helicopter.

of course the attack helicopter I really want is:

The hind has been my favorite helicopter since I seen pictures of it when I was a wee lad. I still have a special place for it in my heart but I think it's undoubtedly the longbow that I really want to fly.

The Hind is my dream machine for DCS, but I'm just not holding my breath at this point.

When I was living in New Mexico in 1993 I had a job working at Presto Products Mfg, I worked in the foundry making fry daddy's and other cooking devices. On my breaks I would usually sit outside the building in the much cooler outside air and relax for a bit. One day while I was sitting outside I heard the sound of rotors approaching. When I looked up I saw the exact helicopter in the photo above flying by... it was awesome. The army had three Hinds at Ft Bliss/Biggs AAF at the time one of which was that Mi-24P.

I much prefer late cold war aircraft so my preference for a western attack helo is the AH-1F Cobra.

They will also have a Bo-105 PAH-1A1 as well.

Hopefully we will see other rotorcraft from them as well... Merlin, Tiger, Cougar, Dauphin/Panther.
