I was going to make a panel myself, and in fact have all the parts necessary, Dual Concentric rotary encoders w/push buttons, a small 7" HDMI screen, other various buttons, Teensyduino which has an X-Plane Plugin and enough info to get you started with the programing, etc.

But after see this thing I was sold due to price and the amount of time/work I could save. It is simply plug and play, no building panels, no 3d printing, no soldering, no programing, etc... for the price.. I felt it was worth it. Should be here in a week or so.

It's also completely self contained. No exposed boards/wires on the back.

It is just a bezel, and a monitor. You could use that monitor for anything I would imagine. Not sure how the buttons would map. This thing is pretty specific towards x-plane as far as the marketing/sales are concerned.

I would go with an app for that purpose.
