Connection Timed Out and/or Server Ping Timeout #6597
Good Morning from the snowy Northeast!
Just when it seems I have everything running smoothly, things just suddenly don't work. I have spent endless hours trying to figure out what is going on with my connection. It seems to have started with the latest updates but can't be sure.
My ping on the 99th 2.0 server is usually between 65 and 72.
Repeated tests throughout the day on Speed.net show my average download and upload to average at:
126 mbps down
11.78 mbps up
I have gone to the 104th and downloaded their autoexec.cfg to no avail.
I have used other similar files downloaded from ED forums, some looking like this:
options.graphics.ScreenshotQuality = 100
options.graphics.ScreenshotExt = "png";
options.graphics.maxfps = 75
respect_alt_f4 = true
-- setting net speed for client 75Mbit down and 8Mbit up
if not net then net = {} end
net.download_speed = 1024*1024
net.upload_speed = 256*1024
This doesn't look right at all, and didn't even want to slave it in.
I tried to find the "correct" file in our Teamspeak files.
I have updated:
NOTHING WORKS for me.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Connection Timed Out and/or Server Ping Timeout #6598
If it's something related to your connection th n downloading pingplotter and letting it run 30 min may offer up some clues.
I've had my pings go through some horrible servers on the way to the game server before.
The only thing is that you don't see the return trip of your packets which isn't necessarily the same route. If there is a bad hop and it isn't your own networking gear, you'll need to call your ISP and notify them of the bad hop. Either that server (which probably doesn't even belong to your ISP) needs to be fixed or if your ISP is cool like mine, they'll change their routing tables for you.

Pretty sure it was noted that the disconnection errors etc were all carried over from 1.5. With said issue now being fixed, in 1.5.

What a pain in the you know what!
'Having issues on 1.5.6 as well.
Contacted ISP, nothing, and did every hardware check I could find,all good, excellent signal strength, low ping, good up and download speeds, blah, blah, blah...
I just want to state an observation I noticed yesterday, Sunday Feb.12th that a lot of people were timing out. I mean a lot more than I have ever seen.
Lastly I did finally find a config file on our Teamspeak that someone had uploaded earlier this month.
Is this the correct for the autoexec.cfg file:
if not net then net = {} end
net.download_speed = 1024*1024
net.upload_speed = 512*1024
If I'm persistent, and just keep trying I eventually get in, or am not dropped while flying with no more problems. Weird...
