It seems my assumptions were correct. I found an article about the OV-10G+ operations in Iraq and they were using them with APKWS as a sort of night time aerial sniping platform. I wouldn't mind having one of these in DCS. Go Navy!

Cool. I'd go for a Bronco, too. With those rockets, of course.
