Looks like the CF-35 is being aborted, may it rest in peace....

Though the fact that our tophat could become another Growler operator is nice...

Im pretty excited about the competition. Hopefully the f35 will at least be included but I doubt it.

Be neat to see Gripens in North America. Super cost-effective too.

Can't say I'm bothered. The hell does Canada need the F-35 for anyway?

My money is on Canada going for the Advanced Super Hornets simply for the fact that the training, infrastructure and supply chain will not need major changes to accommodate the new airframes. That is another way to save money. Having two engines is a good idea over the vast area that the RCAF has to cover. I foresee other countries jumping off the F-35 bandwagon as well. I wonder why the F-15 was not included on the short list if all they really need is an interceptor?

It could be a hoax too.... I didn't see one "sorry" in there at all. ;)

Don't get your hopes up. Watch us just give up our planes all together.

New Liberal majority government. We're going to phase the armed forces away from homeland security and start using them to set up crappy drum circles at folk music festivals.

Last I saw Gripen operating cost was like $5000 USD per hour or something. Ridiculously low.
